BroadRange™ is Broadcom's advanced signal processing technology that extends the range of 54g wireless networks. Products equipped with BroadRange technology can stay connected at up to 50 percent farther from a wireless router, ensuring high-speed connectivity throughout a home or office.

As a wireless device moves away from a router, it becomes more difficult to receive (or "hear") data transmissions - forcing the system to downshift to lower data rates to maintain error-free communication. BroadRange improves the ability of 54g products to receive transmissions, which allows them to stay connected longer at top speeds before downshifting and extends their maximum range at lower data rates.
